Seen/Scene for July 22, 2009

SEEN/SCENE

IT'S A FREEBIE!!!...Temecula's newest fitness sensation Sweat Cardio & Yoga offers FREE classes for kids ages 6-12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3 p.m. For the next three Tuesdays (July 14, 21, and 28) Sweat teams up with Premier Martial Arts (formerly Xtreme Fit) to offer a martial arts-based class. Got younger kids? Sweat also offers Mommy & Me for kids ages 18 mos to 3 yrs. Check out their schedule of classes and complete details at their website and while you're browsing, check out the Premier Martial Arts site too. Premier is THE destination for krav maga for all ages in the Temecula Valley. Some of the fittest women I know in Temecula are big fans of "krav."

COOL DOWN, SUDS UP, AND IT'S FOR CHARITY...on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dogtopia (27629 Commerce Center Drive, 506-1200, www.dogdaycare.com/temecula) is having a charity dog wash to benefit the Murrieta Police Dept K9 unit. For $10 you get a "wash, spritz, and bandana." Sounds too cute to shake (or throw & fetch) a stick at.

SIPPING & SAMPLING...PLUS ART & ARTISTS...Fallbrook's Wine & a Bite Art Walk series continues on the evening of July 18 from 5-7 p.m. in Fallbrook's historic downtown. More info is at www.findfallbrook.com. Future 2009 art walks are planned for August 15 and Sept 19.

SIPPING...TEA! (HOT, ICED, SHAKEN...)...Also on Saturday, July 18, California Tea and Coffee Brewery (40315 Winchester, at Margarita in the Longs Drugs center near Anthony's Ristorante) celebrates their one year anniversary. Come in from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and get a coupon for a free tea when you make a drink purchase.

ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT TO VOTE!...Visitors to Parents Connect can vote once each day until July 15 in the national survey of Best Local Places. Cruise on over to their San Diego category and cast your daily vote for Old Town's own Temecula Children's Museum aka Pennypickles.
