Morning Memo from Juliet for Saturday, November 14, 2009
A brisk fall good morning to you!
It is a perfect morning for heading out the Temecula Farmer's Market in Old Town to re-stock with fresh produce. This is the time of year when I like to make a lot of soups, including my favorite Tuscan white bean soup with rainbow greens or local kale. I am also going to stop in at local favorite Jack's Nuts to stock up on some small, special hostess gifts for winter events. (The Spice Merchants is another great spot for picking up unique little gifts with a beautiful presentation, plus she always has a pot of delicious and fragrant tea to sample.)
It is a little chilly (at least by my California-native standards), but there's not a cloud in the sky. It's a perfect day to head over to Harveston for the 14th annual Police K-9 competiton and public safety fair. Check out the city's site for full info.) It runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is a great event for the entire family.
Also happening today: my friend and local Realtor Rachel Lopez of Lighthouse Realty is presenting a Distressed Homeowner Workshop at 10 a.m. at the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce. Even if it's too late to attend when you read this, if you need help, call (951)526-7858 to speak to Rachel. She is very knowledgeable about foreclosure-avoidance and will honestly and empathetically discuss all of your options with you. Rachel has begun speaking more and training other professionals, but her first love is her clients, whom she treats with the utmost respect and regard.
The calendar really books up around this time of year. Make sure to write in (in ink! This is a do-not-miss) local jewelry artisan Tina Steinberg's "Sweet Scentful Succulent Stylish Sunday Sale" on Sunday, December 6, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Contact her at info@tinasteinberg.com to RSVP or for questions. There will be Tina's jewelry (at great holiday sale prices), Sprinkles cupcakes, Vera Alexander's Scentsy candles (mmmm....Scentsy! Follow her on twitter as @LoveScentsy), and even chair massage. This will be a do-not-miss event!
Also, if you missed the snow last night at the Promenade Mall, make sure to mark your calendar to attend Bel Villaggio's Snow Day on Saturday, December 12.
Starting on November 27 ("Black Friday"), register with any Bel Villaggio merchant to win a $500 or $100 shopping spree. I already have plans to shop with my holiday postcard coupon at Tangerine Boutique and make a custom "grandchildren" locket charm at Tina Steinberg's studio located inside Anela Apothecary, so that is where I will enter.
You can also enter to win $100 in "Bel Villaggio Bucks" by texting BVSHOPS to 25827.
On December 12, Bel Villaggio will have its Snow Day, with over ten tons of snow, live KFROG radio remote with Santa Frog, jolly jump and face painting for the kids, gift wrap table, and more. Bel Villaggio has free wi-fi throughout so I might even be doing a little real-time blogging.
What more could a girl want?
Festively yours,
Juliet
PS - Feeling oinky? Track H1N1 "swine flu" locally at the County public health department's site.
