Morning Memo

Morning Memo from Juliet for Friday the 13th, 2009

Good morning!

This is cool! I attended the first SITSCation conference for female bloggers at the beautiful Venetian in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. (If you don't know what SITS is yet, check it out, and refer a blogger over there today. It is truly life-changing!)

It was funny that I traveled all the way to Las Vegas to meet a dynamic, intelligent, creative woman who lives in my own backyard: Holly Suso, creator of My Mompreneur.

(The local connection to SITS, Tiffany, tweets as @SITSGirls, and Holly of My Mompreneur tweets as @hsuso; add them to your Follow list today.)

Do you know someone with mortgage woes? Expert local realtor Rachel Lopez of Lighthouse Realty is presenting a Distressed Homeowner Workshop this Saturday, November14, at 10 a.m. at the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce. Call (951)526-7858 to RSVP to attend or for more info.

I have been raving to everyone I know about the hottest new thing in "candle technology," Scentsy.

Have you seen this? It's a warmer that safely and gently melts wax with a lightbulb. No flame, no wick, no dangerously hot burner. And their scents are fabulous.

My friend Jen Matis, who styles hair at Colours Salon on Jefferson, introduced me to Vera Alexander, who sells Scentsy locally. You can find Vera on Facebook or tweeting as @LoveScentsy.

This is such a busy time of year so mark your calendar early to attend local jewelry artisan Tina Steinberg's "Sweet Scentful Succulent Stylish Sunday Sale" on Sunday, December 6, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Contact her at info@tinasteinberg.com to RSVP or for questions. There will be Tina's jewelry (at great holiday sale prices), Sprinkles cupcakes, Vera's Scentsy candles (mmmm....Scentsy!), and even chair massage. This will be a do-not-miss event!

Fragrantly yours,

Juliet

PS - Feeling oinky? Track H1N1 "swine flu" locally at the County public health department's site.
